For high school students who are curious about a career in construction, this is a must-attend event!

Tacoma Public Schools, BnBuilders, TCF Architecture and OAC Services will host the first ever Construction Career Pathways event Thursday, Dec. 7, at Oakland High School, 3702 E. McKinley Ave. (formerly McKinley school).

High school students who attend this event will learn the fundamentals of different careers in the construction industry. They’ll have an opportunity to interact with experts one-on-one and engage in a hands-on activity to learn about the various careers in the construction industry.

At this event students can:

• Participate in an interactive activity with experts in the general contractor, architect, plumber, mechanical, electrical, accounting and administration fields, and more.
• Use props and technology to learn about careers in construction.
• Get step-by-step information on the pathways to working in the construction industry.
• Discover other job choices in construction.
• Enjoy a slice of pizza and refreshments.

Two sessions are available to accommodate dismissal and travel times. The first session is at 2:15 p.m., and the second session will start at 4 p.m. All TPS high school students are welcome. Transportation will be provided to/from student's home school to Oakland. Registration is required for transportation. Register here!
