Sugar. Frosting. Graham crackers flying everywhere. That’s what the commons looked like during the Gingerbread Building Competition, and honestly—it was epic.

Teams of students huddled around tables, trying to keep their candy walls from collapsing. Some went for classic houses, others got wild with castles and cabins. One group even tried to build Mount Tahoma out of gingerbread (respect). “We wanted to go big,” said sophomore Maya Torres, grinning as her team slapped a peppermint roof on top.

The best part wasn’t just the designs—it was the vibe. People were laughing, helping each other, and cheering when someone’s roof stayed up. That’s collaboration and kindness right there. Even when frosting bags exploded or walls fell down, students showed courage by starting over and keeping hope alive.

Judges picked winners, but honestly, every team walked away proud. The houses might crumble, but the memories stick. This competition wasn’t just about candy—it was about belonging, creativity, and showing off our community voice.
