With Intercultural Assembly right around the corner, Mount Tahoma’s culture clubs are working hard behind the scenes to bring our school’s diversity to the stage. From late‑afternoon practices to last‑minute costume fixes, each club is finding creative ways to honor their traditions while representing their communities with pride.

Latino Club has been deep in rehearsals, perfecting choreography that highlights the vibrancy of Latin American culture. Members say they want their performance to feel welcoming—something everyone at Mount Tahoma can connect with. Their practices show what collaboration and belonging really look like: students from different backgrounds learning from each other, cheering each other on, and making sure every step feels right. Leaders shared that their goal isn’t just to perform, but to represent their families and roots with integrity and artistic expression.

Moving down the hall, Tautua Pasifika has been practicing traditional island dances, blending creativity with cultural storytelling. Their rehearsals are loud, energetic, and full of community voice as students teach one another moves passed down through generations. They talk openly about the courage it takes to perform in front of a crowd and the respect they feel for the cultures they represent. For them, Intercultural Assembly isn’t just a performance, it’s a responsibility and a celebration.

Meanwhile, Khmer Club is preparing a performance inspired by classical Cambodian dance. With detailed hand movements and graceful pacing, their rehearsals show incredible focus, discipline, and compassion as newer members learn the cultural meaning behind each gesture. Club leaders say they hope their performance sparks curiosity about Cambodian history and reminds students why honoring our cultures matters at Mount Tahoma.
