In the spirit of Asian American Pacific Islander Month, the Tautua Pasifika Club from Mount Tahoma gathered with students, staff, and family members to embrace their rich cultural heritage at the Tautua Luau event last week.

Students from Mount Tahoma, Lincoln, and Federal Way High School performed traditional songs and dance from Tahiti, Tonga, Hawaii, Fiji, New Zealand, and Samoa.

"The Luau provides a space for Pacific Islanders students to learn about their culture and heritage through traditional songs and dance," said Vince Vaielua, Tautua Pasifika Club Coordinator. 

The event not only showcased the extraordinary talent of our Pacific Islander students but also represented the immense diversity within the Asian American Pacific Islander community.
